San Bernardino has a long and storied history.
It was once an “All-American City” and thriving suburb.
Sadly, the city fell victim to economic turmoil in the 1990s and has struggled ever since to regain the prestige it once held.
In the last decade, many essential city services were cut back to bare minimums.
Potholes went unfilled. Parks became neglected. Gang violence increased. Prostitution thrived. Homelessness exploded.
By 2018, the worst appeared to be over. Things were beginning to look up.
Then the Covid-19 Pandemic hit.
It shook the city once again, endangering residents health and damaging local jobs and businesses.
Yet in the midst of these ongoing challenges there remains hope for a better tomorrow.
And residents like you have the power to put San Bernardino back on the right track.
It’s called Measure S — and it is key to the revitalization of San Bernardino.
Measure S is a small one-cent sales tax that is essential to the city’s recovery and future.
All of the funds generated by Measure S will be invested directly into the community.
Politicians in Sacramento or Washington can’t take the money away.
Measure S will improve city services and prevent cuts, in these areas:
- Community Safety
- Senior Programs
- Street & Pothole Repairs
- Homeless Programs
- 911 Emergency Responses
- Park and Library Maintenance
- Gang & Prostitution Prevention
- Youth After-School Programs
- Cleaning of Public Areas
- Saving & Attracting Job-Creating Businesses
- Other Important City Services
This is a pivotal moment for San Bernardino.
Measure S is crucial to bring San Bernardino back as a stronger, more stable, and safer city.
The kind of city all residents want and deserve.
The men and women of the San Bernardino Police Officers Association respectfully ask that in this election, you show your support for San Bernardino and Vote Yes on Measure S.
